Co-Founder and CEO @ RigiTech

About

Passionate about civilian drones and their potential to do good to our planet and all its inhabitants. As co-founder of RigiTech, my dream is to make drone-based package delivery a reality and make access to goods as universal as access to the internet. I've been working in the commercial drone industry since before it was even an industry. This passion was born in 2006 during my Masters and Ph.D work at EPFL in Switzerland, where I designed several iterations of the AirBurr, a flying robot designed specifically to bounce off obstacles in crowded environments (now commercialised by the startup Flyability). I then spent 4 years as Head of Engineering at senseFly SA, developing the latest generation of drones for the GIS and mapping sectors and seeing the startup grow from less than 10 people to 150 and a successful exit through sale to the Parrot Group. Taking a break from industry, I spent two years as co-founder of WeRobotics, a non-profit organisation using drones and robotics to tackle humanity's greatest challenges around the world. My goal is now to bring drones out of the lab and into the hands of the people that need it the most, whether its in humanitarian aid, conservation or industry.
