As an Active Learning Enabler, I worked closely with students with profound learning difficulties and learning disabilities with the aim of providing the students with opportunities to access different sports and activities which meet their needs. In this role I develop individual plans which are tailored to the students needs which are monitored and targets are set within these plans. I also lead one to one sessions with each of the students, these include rebound therapy and hydro therapy sessions.

As CCN Active Sports Coach my role entailed Organising/planning and instructing sports programmes to be run over the course of the academic year and over the college holidays. Whilst working as a sports coach I have worked with students with many different ability levels but mainly coach students with learning difficulties. My role is to organise and plan sports programmes for students of all abilities in which they gain enjoyment whilst also learning different sports. Organisation of the sports programmes involves putting together session plans/ideas, putting together risk assessments for all the students and also reading through all students’ personal information to understand their personal needs.

As an Employment Job Coach for the supported learning provision at City College Norwich, my role was to support students with barriers to learning into full time work or apprenticeships. Within this role I planned and lead on small employability sessions such as CV skills and interview techniques etc. I also communicated with local employers to provide work placement opportunities for the students. Whilst the students were on work placement, I continued to provide support in the different areas of work to ensure the student was comfortable and gaining experience.
