Adam Gardiner-Maya
Associate Compensation Director @ IQVIA
About
I design systems that structure thought. My background spans analytics, automation, and architecture — but my current work focuses on building cognition-enhancing systems using AI and symbolic design. The goal is always the same: compress complexity, reduce friction, and surface usable insight. Where others see tools, I look for structure. Where others chase output, I design for clarity. Recent work includes: - Developing lightweight decision infrastructure using AI agents and LLMs - Building symbolic workflows that turn messy data into stable, reusable insight - Designing internal systems that reduce operational entropy and enable strategic alignment at scale I’m especially interested in the foundational layer — where structured human input meets machine cognition, and signal becomes system.

Business Support Analyst
Due to the expected rise in usage during the 2012 Olympics, it was necessary for me to step away from my day to day duties and join a project team. This project team was created to work alongside other banks to ensure accurate forecasting for the entirety of the Olympics. Since successfully achieving this objective, I have since remained in a mostly analytical role supporting a team of forecasters with MI creation, data management, Microsoft Excel support etc. Other duties include; •Daily Excel support and report creation •Familiar with compliance within ATM operations and wider RBS environments: compliance with Bank of England note distribution stipulations for example. •Simultaneous use of many different analytical systems (Gasper, Connex, ICOM, Business Intelligence etc) •Weekly/Monthly analysis of team budgetary requirements •Daily resource and supplier management •Contractual management of customer estates; (ASDA, Morrisons, WHSmith, Nrail etc.) •Use of communication skills to liaise with RBS colleagues, suppliers and customers based in different countries •Management of property access; Security procedures, time windows, points of contact etc. •Direct involvement with ad-hoc projects that regularly surface in order to improve the availability of the NWBRBS ATM estate •The creation of bespoke Excel solutions for ad-hoc problems

The TL Ops role allowed me to create custom solutions to a variety of problems; I enjoyed this aspect of the role as it allowed me to be creative. The majority of work I received was ad-hoc and required quick thinking and coordination to complete within in the allocated deadline. •The creation and implementation of various Excel based spreadsheets and Databases. •The implementation of new tools designed to increase managerial capacity. •The understanding of MI systems and ability to communicate the findings to managers. •Collaborating with colleagues across 3 collections sites to implement joint projects. •Using and updating pre-existing management tools.

Telephony - Enfield Collections
This role was divided into two parts; first as a Customer Adviser, but later as a Debt Collection Officer. Both roles allowed me to develop strong communication skills; I had to answer calls from a wide variety of customers and completing their day to day banking requirements (payments, balance transfers, sales of banking products etc.), . Once I moved over the Debt Collections, this communication skill increased due to the necessity of talking to customers experiencing financial hardship. This differed from the previous telephony role as we were allowed much more freedom to help customers and arrange tailored payment plans that best fit each customer's need at the time.
Education

Politics, Philosophy and Economics
I am currently studying an Open University degree in my spare time and enjoy the challenge immensely. This experience allows me to widen my knowledge of subjects that have always fascinated me; particularity Politics and Philosophy, but also sharpen existing skills that are useful in the workplace.
