As an Associate in Milbank's Technology Practice, I have worked on a number of significant international outsourcing deals and commercial contracts, and have experience of transactions in the private and public sector. I have also advised clients on data protection issues in preparation for the application of the GDPR, and technology disputes and re-negotiations.

As an Associate, I worked primarily for Telefónica on its sale of O2 to Hutchison Whampoa, parent company of UK telecoms operator Three. I also drafted a range of commercial and outsourcing contracts.

My training contract consisted of seats in commercial construction, general litigation, and the telecommunications, media and technology team. I also spent six months on secondment at IBM, dealing with technology and outsourcing disputes.

Secondment to IBM's disputes division, assisting on large commerical litigation and managing IBM's smaller claims. Tasks involved reviewing IT services and licence agreements; drafting position papers, party/party correspondence and skeleton arguments; contributing to tactical meetings and calls; and liaising with IBM's business to understand their position on contentious matters.

Working as an intern at Tatler, including drafting articles; research for substantial pieces; learning about the advertising arrangements and revenue for the magazine; and attendance at industry events.

Sitting at the Saturday Times desk. Work involved editing and transcribing a variety of articles; liaising with suppliers and small businesses with a view to including their products in features; and meeting with the legal team to discuss steps required in the case of urgent stories and claims.
