Chocolate Product Developer - Gifting and Seasonals
Bournville
Worked both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create, develop and deliver new products, and improve current products, for the European gifting and seasonal market. Led a large portfolio of over 25 projects with very tight timelines. Collaborated with multiple departments to innovate and develop products that are at the forefront of market/consumer trends, whilst maximising margin and minimising complexity. This includes products for promotional campaigns to increase brand awareness and sales – for example the Cadbury white chocolate Crème Egg.

Intern - Chocolate Research, Development and Quality
Bournville, Birmingham
Recruited as the first intern for the Gifting and Seasonal team. Quickly began working autonomously with very limited support from my manager despite having no prior experience. For example – independently led a factory trial overseas on behalf of my manager only 2 months into the internship with less than a weeks’ notice. Delivered over 20 new products to market from initial brief to launch, including 5 big innovations. Led an intern skills development scheme and charity fundraising scheme. Was one of only 3 interns out of 25 to be offered a permanent position at the company after graduating.

Fieldwork Assistant
United Kingdom
Summer Field Assistant supervised by Dr. Helen Hicks. Working on a long term study examining the evolution and management of herbicide resistance in black-grass funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and Home Grown Cereals Authority. Involved in all data collection and responsible for setting up the data collection tablet at each new field using ArcGIS software.

Education Volunteer
Underberg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa
Fundraised over £5,000 to support me in volunteering with the charitable organisation Project Trust. Significantly improved the grades of 5 children in the school hostel where I lived, 2 of which had special educational needs, by developing effective strategies alongside teachers and coming up with creative ways to keep them engaged.
