[responsibilities]. 1) Analysis of electricity market and policy policy in the electricity industry, including BESS. 2) Consultation with TSOs on technical studies and technical studies in access studies Study of the commercialisation of various types of BESS for the grid. [Achievements] 1) The analysis of the policy and market for grid storage batteries is important, and this analysis will be reflected in the strategic planning of the company as a whole. 2) The project will be reflected in the company's overall strategic planning by analysing the results of this analysis. 3) As there are multiple means of commercialising BESS, I am responsible for examining what means are available for the project and negotiating the realisation of the project.

[responsibilities]. ・Study supply-demand optimisation using supply-demand simulation software, taking into account fuel and electricity market conditions. ・Developing a policy for electricity trading that reflects the results of supply and demand simulations. ・Preparing electricity supply and demand supply plans. [Achievements] In order to reflect the ever-changing fuel and electricity market conditions in supply and demand operations in the optimisation of supply and demand, I established a method of planning procurement and sales policies more easily and quickly by using the PLEXOS supply and demand simulation software. I acquired know-how on the preparation of supply plans, which is mandatory for power generation and retail operators.

[responsibilities] 1) Specification study and construction of solar and wind power generation forecasting system. 2) Demonstration project for countermeasures against grid voltage fluctuations using a storage battery system for the Minami Soma grid. [Achievements] 1) The project was carried out to improve the accuracy of solar and wind power generation forecasts by working out the details of the forecasting method and system requirements with the manufacturer's staff and updating the existing system, which not only improved forecast accuracy but also reduced the amount of labour used by operators. 2) The project considered a demonstration project to mitigate the grid voltage fluctuations that had been a concern due to the expansion of solar power generation interconnection by controlling the reactive power of BESS installed by Tohoku Electric Power Company at the Minami Soma substation.

[Job responsibilities]. 1) Monitoring and operation of power systems. 2) Preparation of supply-demand balances for electricity trading. [Achievements] 1) Through daily supply-demand operations at the central supply command centre, I learnt about supply-demand operations from both the TSO side and the power trading and generator start-up/shutdown perspective of the power generation and retail company side. 2) In the supply and demand management, I improved existing tools by using Excel macros and other methods, and contributed to improving operational efficiency.

[Responsibilities]. 1) Study of the impact of renewable energies on the quality of electricity for grid-connected renewable energies. 2) Study of the specifications of the control system for the Nishi-Sendai BESS in relation to supply and demand operation. [Achievements] 1) The introduction of FIT has led to a rapid increase in the number of applications for grid-connection of PV generation. The impact on power quality, such as voltage fluctuations after interconnection, was a concern. 2) The project examined how to use BESS installed by Tohoku Electric Power Company at the Nishi-Sendai substation for supply and demand operations, made it available for actual supply and demand operations, and made presentations at conferences and other forums.

Maintenance management of power generating and substation plants -Construction design and supervision of periodic inspections and refurbishment of power generating and substation equipment. I learnt the basics of the power industry and knowledge of safety work by studying maintenance management at power stations and substations, and this formed the basis of my subsequent career.
