The King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence is a national project that aims to spread the values of peaceful coexistence and build bridges amongst different cultures and religions while utilizing an action-based approach with education and legislation at its core. Key accomplishments: • Successfully drafted and lobbied for the United Nations General Assembly to adopt the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence. • Launched the Science for Peace Schools on AI in partnership with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) after signing a 5-year agreement with the IPU. • Drafted an international model legislation on coexistence and a “Coexistence Self-Assessment Handbook” and submitted it to the IPU for review and subsequent distribution to all 183 member parliaments. • Launched the Joint Higher Diploma on Coexistence in partnership with the UN University for Peace Training and Gioya University. The program trained 150 students from 63 countries including current heads of mission and heads of NGOs. • Designed the consortium and Launched the King Hamad Leadership in Coexistence Program in partnership with UK-based Faith in Leadership, founded by Lord Krish Raval, and the 1928 Institute, an official offshoot of Oxford University. • Created and negotiated the draft legislation in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the name “Promoting Coexistence and Tolerance and Combating Hate Speech”. The legislation was approved by the government and sent to parliament. • Designed, in conjunction with the Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP), a Coexistence Barometer that provides an alternative perspective on the well known “Peace Index” and formulated a matrix that included the effects of coexistence on security and the economy.

The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity is an independent organization that specializes in the promotion of the principles of the Document on Human Fraternity. The HCHF is an independent international organization based in Abu Dhabi and oversees many projects like the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity (ZAHF). Key accomplishments: Create a multi-channel communications strategy to promote the values of human fraternity and peaceful coexistence, that aims to support community leaders and organizations globally that help promote the values of hope, coexistence, and solidarity. Oversee community engagement programs. Structure and lead the Media and Public Relations Department and ensure the development of KPIs and media plans with the support of the Strategy and Project Management Departments. Oversee the communications plans of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity and monitor their implementation. Ensure the implementation of the communications strategies and plans across different projects and through all touch points. Manage multiple media/PR/digital agencies involved across the operations. Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and internal and external stakeholders.

Appointed as Acting Director, Communications, at the Muslim Council of Elders (MCE) in addition to my role at the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity. The Muslim Council of Elders’ role is to promote coexistence and seek to correct extremist thought related to Islam around the world. Key accomplishments: Develop a media strategy with the stakeholders that aims at combating extremism in Muslim communities and promote centrist Islamic thought. Work with global physical and virtual offices belonging to the MCE to develop a localized media strategy in the different markets. Work with religious leaders from around the world to further the communication strategy developed by the MCE.
