Consultant for Internal Data Discovery Portal Development – Abdinassir served as the business analyst to gather, synthesize and analyze business requirements for an internal data discovery portal. The portal, based on CKAN technology, was established to serve as the central point of access for multiple organizations to share and exchange data.

Abdinassir delivered guided demonstrations, one-on-one support and technical troubleshooting to students. For this role, Abdinassir relied on both deep knowledge and practical skills of database design and administration. Designed, led and supported interactive sessions covering course material. Responded to ad hoc requests to support students understand and successfully complete assignments by leveraging deep knowledge of database concepts and SQL programming language

* Abdinassir was part of a residence life team that was committed to providing a supportive and intellectually stimulating residence environment for all residents. Abdinassir assisted new students to transition into university life and acted as a friend and mentor to the residents in his floor. * Developed and facilitated social and developmental programs that addressed the needs of residents * Ensured residence policies were upheld by documenting incidents and escalating issues to the coordinators and security as necessary. * Documented and responded to policy violations and emergencies as they arose. * Maintained open communication with students and managed administrative duties such as move out inspections. * Handled roommate conflicts. * Attended weekly meetings with residence coordinators for updates.

* Abdinassir was responsible for the design and delivery of training and coaching sessions to the refugee community aimed at increasing participation and promoting self-management, synergy and relationships among internal and external stakeholders e.g. Government of Kenya department of refugee affairs, UN and local NGO’s, refugee and local community. * Designed and facilitated trainings and workshops that promoted synergy and links among refugee stakeholders. * Coached sector committees such as WATSAN equipping them with tools and sector information to better contribute to the delivery of services in the camps. * Submitted session plans and reports to the project manager every week. * Attended interagency meetings organized by UNHCR and provided updates on behalf of the team. * Acted as a team lead and managed the project (budget, schedule, etc.) in the absence of the project manager with support from the head of office. * Assisted in the design and implementation of the first secret ballot election in Dadaab refugee camps.

* Abdinassir was part of a community development and welfare management team working in Hagadera refugee camp to improve the living situation of the camp residents. * Conducted community assessments and surveys to identify community needs and prepare situational reports. * Mobilized the community to participate in all camp activities including calendar events such as world refugee day, general clean ups and campaigns. * Conducted home visits on needs assessments and follow up on individual cases. * Mobilized, created awareness, sensitized and disseminated information on issues affecting the refugee community. * Participated in an interagency taskforce work to organize and set up calendar events in the camps. * Rendered interpreter services during refugee card revalidation, refugee status determination and baby registration. * Conducted population and WFP surveys on post distribution monitoring. * Assisted UNHCR in the distribution of non-food items and mobilization of new arrivals.

* As an experienced Business Technology Analyst, Abdinassir contributed to the design and delivery of multiple technology related projects to clients in the private and public sector. His role involved gathering business requirements, defining current and future states, developing recommendations and implementation plans.
