Abdelkader Badawi

I'm an engineer and lawyer with over 24 years of experience in project management and forensic construction claims advisory. I typically thought during my university study that I would spend my career tunneling underground mines; however, after graduating as a mining and underground structures engineer and investing in project management and other unique components of my study, I took an interestingly different career path where I'm participating in building skyscrapers and various types of urban developments. This necessitated adding a Bachelor in Laws (LLB) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) to my academic profile; still, as needed, I'm working to add more. I hold three certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP), Scheduling Professional (SP), and Risk Management Professional (RMP). Three certifications from the Association of Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEI) are Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), and Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC). I'm a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). I led project control functions and concluded forensic delay analysis and advisory commissions for large contractors and developers across the GCC and Egypt. That covered mixed-use, infrastructure, residential, administrative, educational, airports, tourism and cultural, oil and gas installations, and judiciary building projects. The exposure to various roles in various locations and to different academic backgrounds enriched my profile with a unique experience. I sponsor and volunteer to remotely manage not-for-profit cultural initiatives related to the preservation of correct writing in the Arabic language and other charitable activities in my locality in Egypt. I’m heading the Planning, Claims and Dispute Resolution Support functions in EMAAR since March 2023.
