Chairman & CEO, East Mediterranean Gas Company (EMG) March 2019 – Present I have been with EMG since its inception in 2000, playing a pivotal role in executing the Peace Pipeline to export excess natural gas from Egypt to Israel. EMG commenced natural gas exports from early 2008 to 2012. In 2018, we initiated the Reverse Flow project to reverse the EMG system, enabling the pipeline to transport Israeli gas to Egypt, with gas flow starting in January 2020. Key Milestones: - October 2008: Nominated by EMG shareholders as Vice Chairman & Managing Director for Contracts & Finance. - March 2011: Promoted to Managing Director. - March 2019: Elevated to Chairman & CEO. Chairman & CEO, South Sinai Water Company (SSWC) 2011 – Present SSWC operates a 17,000 m³/day water desalination plant in Sharm El Sheikh. It distributes desalinated water through a 150 km pipe network to around 300 clients, supplying about 25% of the city’s water needs. We also manage a 6,000 m³/day sewage treatment plant. Unique Experience: - Engaged with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in seven international arbitrations (ICC Geneva, UNCITRAL Hague, ICSID Washington, and CRCICA). -Managed over 30 international events in Sharm El Sheikh, including various peace summits and three World Economic Forums, which were attended by world leaders.
