The scope of work includes construction and completion of Dubai Hills Mall together with associated external works, external services, hard and soft landscaping.

Manage the activities of the design department: - Allocation of design resources to projects. - Management of personnel including assessing of competence and setting of objectives and with the Operations Director recruitment of staff and review of salaries. - Motivation, training and development of design department personnel. Induction of new staff. Leadership on a professional and personal level. - Delegation of responsibilities in a sensible way to the team members - Appointment and management of any sub-contractors. - Management of systems and processes. Sales Support/Provide design support to the Sales Team where required, including: - Preparation of Design Budgets. - Provision of technical advice, design concept and drawings. - Provision of design program Projects/Manage the delivery of design to individual projects including: - Leading the design on projects allocated either by acting as Design Team Leader or supervising the activities of the Design Team Leader. - Decide on which construction is to be employed for the project. - Recognizing any additional work and informing the PM of any associated costs. - The technical design and development of the project within the scheduled time and within the calculated costs in a client-oriented way. - Responsibility for the development and necessary co-ordination of the construction throughout the project. - Ensuring Project drawings and files are prepared in accordance with the program and are suitable for the needs of production and installation. - Provide technical support to production and installation. Design-Technical/Provide technical leadership including responsibility for: - The quality of technical output including compliance with norms. - Developing/agreeing technical solutions to be with Company technical support personnel. - Working with other group design / technical resource. - Provide ongoing technical assessment to the on-site team and address any prospective construction issues

• To review the structural and architectural drawings and prepare detailed engineering drawings for aluminium and glazing works of the projects in accordance with the complete scope of work as per BOQ and specification. • Make sure that structural checks are done with Structural Department for all related details (e.g. aluminium numbers, glass brackets etc). • Identify additional work/variations to the Snr Designer/Technical Manager for processing/approval of the variation order by Project Manager. • To ensure that the approvals of drawings and sample materials obtained as per specified time scales of the programmer. • Responsible for pre-ordering of all materials in co-ordination with Design Team Leader (i.e releasing the related information to Allocation Department) in time to meet the project programme. • Provide leadership and manage the four team members in a professional manner e.g. allocation of work, providing guidelines to them in drafting tom maintain the quality, improving productivity, checking drawings and cutting list profiles etc. • Attending to design meetings/co-ordination meetings as well as preparing notes for records to ensure all are aware of current progress.

Aluminum Technical Farbrication Drawings including Material Orders Shop Drawings & Cutting Lists  Responsible for the shop drawing design and products to comply with architectural requirements.  Checks preliminary drawings and details received from clients.  Prepare drawings based on details produced as above and in relation with available standards as well as instruction by the Technical Manager (TM).  Develops the initial “design intent / concept drawing” into proper working design once the project is awarded. This is to be done to suit architectural drawings, job specifications, Engineers calculations and other tender requirements and in conjunction with Project Manager (PM) and Technical Manager (TM).  Provides technical design, cutting list and drawing submittals revisions of all aluminum phases.  Attend meetings together with the PM for clarification on clients if necessary.  Prepare material take off and coordinate with procurement for technical issues and warehouse for availability. · Façade design and detailing and to provide advice and lead the team of designers with correct technical guidelines · Assist the facade engineers and consultants to coordinate and meet with clients, government authorities, architects and other consultants for ongoing projects · Understand the balance of priorities on differing projects whilst developing successful relationships with other team members · Coordination with clients, architects, other consultants (structural/MEP), facade contractors and other project team members will be an integral part of the candidate’s role · Duties to include liaison with and providing advice & drawings to Shanghai office for our China projects; · Assist in preparing sketches and drawings for proposals for potential projects
