Coordinate and conduct community health education programming and case management for under-resourced and at-risk populations. Assist in grant procurement, budgeting, grant management, and allocation for multi-million dollar federal and private based grants. Effectively modified, implemented, and applied evidence-based programmatic models pertaining to health education, human ecology, social determinants of health and cognitive behavior therapy as a framework for reducing health disparities at the micro and mezzo level of healthcare organizations. Provide one to one behavioral health counseling, case management, resource navigation and behavior modification planning assistance to patient population. Coach and supervise staff through role development and coordination of grant deliverables and programmatic functions. Effectively act as liaison in collaboration with major area research institutions towards the organizational implementation of health-based mobile technologies designed to assist persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Serve as part of a coordinated healthcare team that includes medical doctors, nurses, nurse case managers and social workers as a means to provide high-level healthcare to patient population. Active on the Inova Juniper quality council committee as well as various community councils with intention towards collaborative resource sharing and area infectious disease surveillance.

Health Policy Research Scholars is a national leadership program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to build equity by investing in scholars from populations traditionally underrepresented in graduate programs whose research, connections, and leadership will inform and influence policy toward a Culture of Health.

Awards/Fellowships Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Health Policy Research Fellow and Heller School Gustav Ranis Fellow. Third year doctoral candidate in the concentration area of Assets and Inequalities: interests and research areas include education inequality, the culture of poverty, social movements, syndemics, Critical Race Theory, legal theory and HIV/AIDS among Black men who have sex with men.

• Responsible for developing and implementing a general education curriculum that includes differentiation, rigor, and is fused with cultural competency for 28 students. • Effectively managed and implemented a behavior system that includes narration, incentives, reflection, redirection and consequences. • Collaborated with a team of administrators, teachers and parents to determine strategies for increasing student achievement through the means of response to interventions and student individualized education plans. • Developed and created lesson plans, anchor charts, centers, visual aids, bulletin boards and presentations for student learning and engagement. • Actively engaged and communicated with students, families and members of the Ketcham/Anacostia family via home visits, phone calls, newsletters and assistance with the after-school food pantry.

• Developed and managed a school webpage for corps members to access teaching resources and information. • Coordinated all daily functions of transportation, arrival, lunch, dismissal and class change schedules for a school of 160 students and staff. • Acted as assistant principal and worked to maintain a positive, safe learning environment for students and newly recruited Teach for America teachers. • Managed and provided feedback regarding teacher development and personal growth for 95 corps members.

• Coordinate and managed an on-site Health Resource Center inside three Boston Public high schools. • Educated students, grades 9-12 on the topic of sexual health, which included STD’s HIV, Contraception, Partner Communication, The Human Body and Drug Addiction. • Performed STI testing and provided private counsel to young adults regarding STI testing results, safe sex practices and partner follow-up. • Developed a programmatic, research based city-wide questionnaire to assess student needs and health behaviors as a means to evaluate program effectiveness and introduce empirically sound concepts to youth sexual health education methods. • Lobbied and submitted research based testimony in support of comprehensive sexual health education policy in the state of Massachusetts. • Conducted research literature reviews to inform best practices for Public Health outreach methods among minority urban student populations.

• Developed and taught a Sociology based Community College course for 15 students that focused on social action, community development and civic engagement. • Facilitated, organized and led community action and service reflection dialogue for students, faculty and staff. • Trained student leaders in outreach/engagement methods for collective and social action. • Coordinated campus-community partnerships and volunteer events with over 20 community partners, many of which served low-income community members. • Engaged in cross-sector collaboration with four organizations to achieve community goals geared towards reducing homelessness in the city of Boston.
