I am responsible for carrying out thorough inspections on vehicles from class 1 to 7 and identifying defects and rectifying them in a timely manor. I also have the responsibility to attend to any defect that comes in from the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) workforce and come up with a solution to rectify these defects. These defects can be on vehicles as well as Plant equipment such as Generators, Power tools, Trailers, NBBC equipment etc. Also these defects could require roadside assistance for a breakdown which meant coming up with solutions very fast not to cause any disruption to the general public and workforce. I also have been given the responsibility to carry out compliance tests to the NBBC taxi fleet which goes further than the MOT to ensure the General Public Safety. I have to create my own job cards, book my own time to a job and book out any parts i use, also having to have a strong relationship with my charge hands, parts manager and admin staff to go through the correct steps in order to rectify defects or repair work.

* I am responsible for completing service on LGV and HGV vehicles. Also assessing defects on a vehicle and coming up with the correct action to fix the application. * I was also being trained to assess and complete MOTs for the LGV and HGV vehicles. * Also having to drive off site and repair breakdowns at contractor sites. * I have had to work on a variety of HGV units such as Renault, Volvo, Scania, Man and Iveco. I had to learn quickly how to diagnose an issue with each unit and how to use equipment such as On Board Diagnostics machines to help find root causes to an issue. * I was also responsible for booking out parts that were used to repair vehicles to ensure stock in workshop was replenished.

I am responsible for the Throughput Improvement Process in General Assembly at Vauxhall Motors Ltd. Where I investigate and improve on sub areas downtime in general assembly, with the use of standardised action sheets to ensure root cause is identified and improved on to improve on production. I am situated with the Manufacturing Engineers and also work closely with the area Team Leaders, Quality Engineers in General Assembly. I also have to communicate between Body, Paint, Press and Supply Engineers to determine all root causes are identified. Key Responsibilities: - Throughput Improvement Process (TIP). Updating Local and General Assembly TIP Station Downtime Charts, Bottlenecks, Action Plans and Trend Charts. - Improving on Preventive Maintenance and Implementing Solutions - Liaise with with all areas of General Assembly to Report Improvements and Feedback on Production over a weeks summary - Working alongside Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to Investigate root causes and implement solutions to tackle downtime and improve uptime.
