About

I am a graduate of the University of Rochester with a dual degree in computer science and economics. Why a double degree track in these two disciplines? My answer is simple. I see the synergy and the potential between computer science and economics. From the largest technology companies, such as Facebook, Amazon, and Google, to the smallest start-ups, they are all fueled by the power of computer science research and leading economic theory. Through my focus on computer science and economics, I possess a full range of analytic, computational, and statistical skills. I combined my data structures, algorithms, artificial intelligence, game theory, and econometrics coursework with three successive years of computer and data science internships. Now, I am ready to pursue a full-time software development position in our growing digital economy. Classroom work at a top-tier institution is challenging. But the real payoff is applying that knowledge in the business to help solve real-world problems. For example, in my most recent internship, I designed, coded, and implemented Python scripts that automated a manual process of website tracking code creation and quality assurance updates. These scripts reduced the company’s manual workload by 50%. Beyond coding and the data science work, these three years of internships taught me the importance of teamwork and collaboration, along with the value of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
