Reviewed offering materials for startups raising capital via regulation crowdfunding (Reg CF, Reg A+) offerings. My workflow involved reviewing bad actor checks, reviewing contracts, substantiating claims made in offering materials, and assisting the Compliance and Due Diligence team in akny issues as they arose. Duties involved drafting and updating internal policies, reviewing Form Cs, updating privacy policies, conducing risk analysis of potential issuers, reviewing marketing materials, and training other teams to ensure compliance with firm written supervisory procedures.

The Blockchain and Compliance Legal Society (BCLS) facilitates the intersection of Blockchain technology (including but not limited to cryptocurrency) and legal compliance. BCLS was created to bridge the gap of understanding between lawyers and technologists on the uniquely disruptive innovations created via utilizing distributed ledger technology across various industries. Privacy law, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies fascinate us, and we aim to bring speakers from the blockchain ecosystem to educate the community at SCU Law and beyond.

I work on the Translation team to help business owners understand how COVID-19 and the regulatory response has affected operations. Most of my work involves turning research into easy to understand information to arm business owners with the necessary knowledge before going into a legal consultation.

I research emerging & untested compliance issues regarding how domestic and foreign securities regulations will apply to the widespread adoption of decentralized cryptocurrencies, with a focus on the viability of Stablecoin in today's regulatory environment. My work helps provide insights to the general counsel on what strategic business decisions to pursue or avoid based on limited existing caselaw or precedent.

Advising start-up businesses on entity formation and conducting trademark searches under the supervision of experienced attorneys. Firsthand experience working with clients face-to-face and managing a case file. Participated in an optional JD/eMBA negotiation simulation representing a start-up business in the negotiation of a term sheet with a venture capital firm.

Externship at an Intellectual Property and Antitrust specializing firm in Tokyo. Conducted work for clients on issues related to transnational IP and privacy regulations. Ate a lot of sushi and ramen.
