Howdy! My name is Aaron Moy, and I’m a graduate student at Texas A&M University pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. I recently earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, a field that fueled my passion for integrating mechanical systems with electronics and control technologies. My academic journey has been deeply rooted in hands-on, multidisciplinary problem-solving, and it continues to evolve as I dive deeper into advanced research and leadership roles. Currently, I’m conducting research on Axial Flux Motor technology—an emerging area in electric motor design with significant implications for high-efficiency and compact electromechanical systems. My work explores innovative architectures and materials to optimize performance, efficiency, and manufacturability. In parallel with my academic endeavors, I serve as the Project Manager for SOMTECH, a student-led robotics organization on campus. I lead our University Rover Challenge team, where we are designing and constructing a fully autonomous Mars-style rover from the ground up. This includes the integration of a modular robotic arm, a Raman spectrometer for geological analysis, and the development of autonomous navigation and system control. Managing this interdisciplinary team has sharpened my skills in systems engineering, project planning, and collaborative leadership. I'm always eager to connect with others who are passionate about robotics, electric machines, or interdisciplinary engineering.
