- The Digital Vanguard is an initiative created by the Navy Surgeon General in 2016. The primary mission of this task force is to modernize military medical technology and delivery by leveraging existing and emerging digital health technologies in the civilian commercial and academic sectors. - Served as an adviser to senior Navy medical leadership on trends in digital health. - Attended webinars and innovation conferences with industry leaders. - Presented findings and recommendations to hospital and clinic leadership. - Special interests in artificial intelligence/deep learning, open source medical devices and software, mobile app development, and 3D printing.

- Served as the primary flight surgeon for NAS Whidbey Island-based squadrons Patrol Squadron One (VP-1), Electronic Attack Squadron 136 (VAQ-136), Mobile Tactical Operations Center 12 (MTOC-12), and Patrol Squadron 69 (VP-69). - Performed physicals and conduct sick call for military personnel and dependents. - Served as a member of various boards and committees including human factors boards, aviation safety counsels, and mishap investigation committees. - Provided lectures and briefs on health and safety-related issues to the squadron. - Served as an aeromedical consultant to the squadron's leadership. - Coordinated medical logistics and deliver medical care for 400 sailors deployed to six countries. - Coordinated medical evacuations (MEDEVAC). - Developed and instructed a medical knowledge and skills curriculum for Corpsman (Navy medical technicians). - Served as designated aircrew and fly aboard P-3C Orion and EA-18G Growler aircraft to better understand the unique stresses and physiological demands of naval aviation. - Completed two overseas deployments to the Middle East, Asian, and African theaters of operation with VP-1 in support of maritime and ground operational units. - Awarded two Navy Achievement Medals.
