As a Principal Cloud Engineer and Solutions Platform Owner at Baringa, I've spent 8+ years designing and managing infrastructure that balances innovation with enterprise-grade security. I currently own and maintain multiple production platforms across our Solutions & AI department, supporting everything from client-facing AI agents to three-tier applications, while managing the full operational lifecycle including alerts, logging, monitoring, and incident response. My role combines technical architecture, platform ownership, strategic vendor management, and operational excellence. I design AWS and Azure infrastructure, build centralised CI/CD pipelines for multiple languages and Terraform deployments, and implement security frameworks including ISO27001 SDLC and privileged user management (PIM). Beyond building platforms, I own and manage relationships with our trusted cloud providers, working to register and demonstrate our specialisations in the domains where we excel. I work closely with security and architecture teams to propose solutions that meet rigorous governance standards while delivering real business value. What drives me? Being the trusted partner that business owners turn to when they need complex requirements turned into reliable, secure platforms. I translate business needs into technical reality, whether that's architecting cloud networking, automating infrastructure deployments, defining release processes with trunk-based routing and semantic versioning, or ensuring platform health through proactive monitoring and incident management. I specialise in infrastructure as code, cloud security, platform reliability, vendor partnership management, and building systems that development teams can depend on. My philosophy is simple: automate everything possible, secure by design, maintain operational excellence, and create infrastructure that's invisible when it's working properly (which is the goal).
