Voltaplant (Company with Patent) is focused on the development of the Plant-Microbial Fuel Cell (PMFC) technology. This allows to collect the electricity dispersed by the normal biological process of plants. In particular, the team composed of botanical and electronic researchers is focused on the search for the most suitable plant species and on the development of a specific electronic circuit. This combination allows the prototypes to power electronic devices with an instantaneous power of 1 J/s and between 2 and 4 Volts. This energy production is continuous throughout the life cycle of the plant (years). No batteries or chemical additives are used.
