UNICONNECT was established in 1983 as an investment vehicle, however, it eventually moved into the emerging telecom sector. Since 1996, this entry in the field has been achieved by successfully distributing mobile connections in bulk for local networks. This diversification is the brainchild and entrepreneurship of Mr. Tarun Kumar Bhartia. A new business niche of International Roaming was identified by him in the year 2000 to supersede the local telecom distribution business.
