Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM)

TIGEM is a leading research institute dedicated to uncovering the molecular mechanisms of rare genetic diseases and translating these discoveries into innovative therapies, with a focus on conditions such as lysosomal storage disorders, metabolic liver diseases and inherited retinal dystrophies. Based in a renovated Olivetti industrial building in Pozzuoli, near Naples, TIGEM offers a 5,000 m² campus with open-space laboratories, a large auditorium and several state-of-the-art core facilities supporting an international community of research groups. TIGEM advances fundamental and translational research on rare genetic diseases and accelerates the path from discovery to therapy, also through collaborations with industry and international partners.
