Terminal Darsena Toscana (TDT) is the main container Terminal in the Port of Livorno, with an annual operating capacity of 900.000 TEU. Established in 1997, TDT joined Gruppo Investimenti Portuali S.p.A. (GIP) in 2012. Thanks to this transition the container terminal of Livorno has been improving its skills until 2017, when the arrival of two specaialised European infrastructure investors - Infracapital and Infravia- gave a new boost to the Group. The new approach of TDT - inside the GIP Group - deals with structural integration and reconfiguring internal procedures with a view to innovation, security and quality. This process contributes to establishing an ethical framework and gives TDT a distinctive line of action. Located in the heart of the industrial port with a strategic position for logistics, TDT is the ideal gateway to serve Central and North-East Italian markets; as well thanks to recent investments in new technology and modern control policies, the terminal ensures a high level of efficiency and reliability. The natural Port of Call for a large hinterland comprising mainly Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Veneto, Marche and Lazio, the Terminal is a key point of access to European markets and has well-established relations with markets in North and South America (USA in particular), Africa and Middle East. Today TDT service quality and a customer-centred approach, supported by Terminal’s structural features, ensure rapid response times and full satisfaction of different needs. Livorno is the leading Italian Terminal by volume for refrigereted cargo and among the main ones for Project Cargo from the north-east and central Italy areas. The terminal has consequently been equipped with structures and areas dedicated to reefer containers, with 890 reefer plugs (80 of them in the inspection area) and to the operations of general cargo and Break Bulk, managed by specialised team.
