Sustainable Waterloo Region

Sustainable Waterloo Region is a social enterprise non-profit that helps the local business community, and Waterloo region as a whole, become more environmentally and economically sustainable, and therefore stronger. Our mission is to catalyze transformation to sustainable systems of energy, mobility and buildings to build a cleaner, more diverse economy. We support members of our community in a variety of ways to help find the intersection of financial and environmental sustainability. We build community and therefore a movement toward a shared vision of the future, setting a common direction for results, and publicly reporting on progress, resulting in heightened individual and collective successes in our region. Our programs focus on organizational sustainability practices, commuting behaviour, re-generative buildings, community GHG impacts and electric vehicles.
