SQ Group - Shengquan Group (SQ ) was founded in 1979 originally producing furfural from corn cob husks. They later diversified into downstream products from Furfural, first by hydrogenating the furfural to produce furfuryl alcohol and then reacting furfuryl alcohol with formaldehyde to produce furan resins for the growing foundry market in China. Nowadays SQ is a diversified industrial enterprise employing over 3,000 people, serving customers in the growth markets of Foundry, Phenolic Resin, Phenolic Foam and Bio / Fine-chemicals. Head office, Product Development and main production facilities are in Jinan, Shandong Province. Product Development and technical service functions are vital in the industries served by SQ and this is reflected by the 15PhD’s and over 70 postgraduates employed within the technical teams.
