Porter Systems

Summary Porter is a smart keyless system that allows an user to open a door with their smartphone. We take this concept further and allow a user to access different types of infrastructure using a single mobile app. Companies can now easily distribute keys and revoke them, plus they gain valuable data into how their doors are being used. We started Porter because we wanted everyone to open all kind of doors in a simple, secure and accessible way, by making it an important part of people's daily lives. To achieve our vision of being the Standard for Smart Keyless Systems, we were fortunate enough to be one of ten startups admitted into Startupbootcamp Smart City & Living 2017 program in Amsterdam. Problem Doors have worked the same way for many years. Place a lock on it and give a key to those you want opening it. This was fine for people who rented a house or office for long periods. But now people rent for shorter times. Plus new models have appeared such as coworking spaces where people can rent a desk by the day. This has raised the problem of giving keys out and getting them back. This problem has been increased by modern life, where we have to park our car or go to the gym. Each of these systems require their own access type, be it a keycard or physical key. So now a user has to keep track of a host of different types of keys. Solution Porter is an IoT system that uses smartphones, cloud technology and electronic door locks to solve this problem. Keys are now distributed to a user's smartphone and can easily be revoked. Companies regain control and can now monitor who is accessing their doors and when. Porter isn’t about hardware, it’s software layer that will work with different manufacturers and access control systems.
