Lusa

LUSA operates since 1987 and is today the biggest news agency in the Portuguese language worldwide. Lusa was formed as a merge from 2 previous agencies (ANOP and ANI ). Lusa is fully owned by the Portuguese state and has annual revenues of around 19 million euros. LUSA holds bureaus in all Portuguese district capitals and is present in 21 countries: bureaus in Bissau (Guinea-Bissau), Praia (Cape Verde), Luanda (Angola), Maputo (Mozambique), Dili (East Timor), Macau (China), Madrid (Spain) and Brussels (Belgium); and correspondents in Berlin, London, Paris, São Paulo, Brasília, Johannesburg, Toronto, New York, California, and Beijing. LUSA is a co-founder of EPA (European Photo Association) and provides worldwide photo coverage with an average of 2.000 photos a day.
