Hidroelectrica SA

Hidroelectrica is a power generation leader and the major supplier of ancillary services required in the National Energy System, as it is a crucial company for a strategic sector, involving itself in the national safety. In the year 2013 Hidroelectrica registered a gross profit of over 900 million lei, after a cumulated loss of 693 million lei in the years 2011 and 2012. Since Hidroelectrica has had a turnover of 3.2 billion lei in 2013, unlike 2.8 billion in 2012, and also accounting assets of about 21 billion lei, it was awarded, for the second year consecutively, the 7th place in the top of the most profitable 100 companies in Romania. The company has 257 hydropower plants having an installed capacity of 6,375 MW under administration, the output in 2013 turning out to be 14,822 GWh.
