HEIAN SHINDO KOGYO is a company that, since its founding in 1952, consistently aims to bring comfortable living that suits the personal tastes of consumers around the world through ideas and technology. Our business domain is the planning and development of household supplies, and we have a dominant share of the Japanese domestic market in the tension rod market, boasting annual sales of over $16 million. Products such as tension rods and shelves do not rely on carpenters for installation, but are made to enable customers to install hanger bars or shelves on their own easily to anywhere they like,without damaging the furniture or walls. Our products that utilize a tension mechanism are original products that we developed 40 years ago. Our tension rods and shelves became widely popular as a customization method for new homes and residential areas that sprang up as Japan's economy developed. They are currently a category of their on Amazon Japan and have firm roots in Japanese people's lives. Our products can be found in places such as "Nitori," the largest home furnishing store in Japan with over 200 stores across the country, and "Aeon," Japan's largest retail group that has opened over 150 large-scales shopping malls both within and outside of Japan. In January 2015, husband and wife, Kazuhiro and Kayoko Takeuchi (the third generation since the founder) took control of the company. Ms. Kayoko Takeuchi is a certified household arrangement and storage consultant, and Kazuhiro is an architect. Taking advantage of their knowledge of housing, the two launched "cataso," a web media platform for sharing ideas on household arrangement and storage, in June 2014.
