At DeYao in 1989 we set out not just to respond to the global fabric demand, we established a single goal – to inspire people’s fabric choices. Soon we found that the basic principles of fabric are truer than ever: choice and fit is everything. Today, 500 million yards later we continue to produce fabric that finds it way into the hands of the right people. Made in China from the venerable DeYao plant in Guangzhou our blood bleeds indigo. The design is not that different than from 1989 and it shows how little garments have changed, but that continuity also shows why we have to work so hard to stay relevant. Even in an already filled market we continue to work with designers to create fabrics you just have to tip your hat to. Home is where you least expect it. Our culture and principles are woven into our fabrics. If you’re not a good corporate citizen, you’re doing it wrong. We have become far too big to stand on the sidelines, let alone stand in the way, while others attempt to resolve these issues. Our business is based upon understanding our market.
