Bismi’s success story dates back to 1974, when a young engineer left his job to pursue his passion of being an entrepreneur. It seems his decision was right, as today the company he has planted has grown into a multi million rupee venture. Bismi’s Chairman Mr. Yousuf is indebted to his late brother Mr. Ibrahim Kutty for being a mentor and guiding spirit in all walks of his life. His venture "Bismi Gas"​ was inaugurated by Mr. Ibrahim Kutty in 1984. In a short span of time his transparency and promptness in execution earned him a reputation in his field of expertise. He was never afraid of innovation and often looked into unrelated areas to which his business can flourish. The perfect blend of two advantages, years of business experience of Mr. Yousuf and the farsightedness of Mr . V. A. Ajmal, added up and gave company the tremendous boost that it required. Eventually by 2003 they ventured into home appliance business that resulted in a great revolution- a revolution that brought changes even in the way home appliances business was conducted in Kerala market. Their efforts paid off. Soon Bismi became a household name in Kerala. And their thirst for growth has driven company forward. Currently, Bismi has 11 Home Appliances branches in Kerala . While considering the market situations, it then occurred to Mr. V. A. Ajmal the possibilities of opening up Hypermarts in Kerala. With abundant support from Mr. Yousuf, Bismi launched its first Hypermart in Alappuzha in the year 2015 and later added three more in Kozhikode, Thrissur and Kochi. Today the company boasts an annual turnover of INR 5000 million, thanks to its dedicated customer base and thirst for business innovation. Also the company’s principle of not to compromise on quality has been found fruitful. Banking on its previous experiences, Bismi is today aiming for an ambitious target of INR 10, 000 million per annum by 2019.
